Philippians 3:13-14 Modern English Version (MEV) 13 “Brothers, I do not count myself to have attained, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 King James Version (KJV) 17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Folks, in order to attain the prize and purpose that God has created you for you, you must first quit letting the mistakes of your past hold you back. Stop the self defeating looser talk that you’ve been brain washing your self to believe.
Sure, we’ve all made mistakes and fallen, but guess what; I’ve got a news flash for you…Welcome to the Human Race.
Don’t let shame or guilt cause you to loose sight of what the Lord has in store for you. Shame will rob you of clarity and guilt will steal your confidence in God’s perfect grace and plan for your life.
Your Father is not up in heaven keeping score of every time you’ve fallen short of the mark. Stop letting the enemy throw your past in your face; it’s a strategy he uses to throw you off your game and get you to not run your race.
Learn to walk in grace; when you can do that, you’ll find it exponentially easier to press into the calling that God has on your life. Why? Because once you begin to understand how much of a perfect fatherly love He has for His children, you’ll start walking in confident faith and not a barely get by anorexic hope. You’ll begin to walk in the ordained plan for your life.
Remember that Jesus paid the ultimate and final price for your sins: past, present and future. The power of His sacrifice allows God’s grace to work in us and through us in order to grow and mature as believers. So get rid of the score card of mistakes you’ve been walking around with. God doesn’t keep one and neither should you. Instead, press into Him daily through His word and prayer. Feed your faith with the truth in His word about Love and Grace.
God Loves you and He wants you to remember that you’re forgiven. So forget the past and press into His best for your life.
